I want to upgrade to a MSI 990 gaming AM3 MOBO over my MSI 970 gaming MOBO, wondering if anybody has a MSI 990 or has any 2 cents to throw in about upgrading to the 990 over the 970. I installed 2 8gb sticks in slots 3 and 4 yesterday. My system shows 24gb installed, but only 16gb usable. So I tried installing the 8gb sticks in slots 1 and 2, and the 4gb sticks in slots 3 and 4.
